Hash Rate Services
Business Description
terahash.energy GmbH, founded December 1, 2022 as a spin-off of the Kläger Group (a Bavarian family conglomerate established in 1949, now in its third generation), provides managed Bitcoin mining, ASIC hardware sourcing, and energy-infrastructure integration services from its headquarters in Augsburg, Germany.
The company's core offering spans three pillars. Under managed mining, terahash sources hashrate and hardware (ASICs) for B2B clients, handling procurement, installation, and operations. Its energy-integration practice embeds mining installations into existing industrial and commercial infrastructure, covering the full cycle from design and sourcing through construction and operation, with an emphasis on surplus-energy utilisation and sector coupling. A third line, carried by subsidiary terahash.powersystems GmbH (established January 2025), offers turnkey solar systems and industrial battery storage, combining photovoltaic design, 350 kWh-class container battery installations, and energy management.
Terahash operates two proprietary mining sites in Finland, both built around heat-recovery district heating integration. The first, Genesis, a 1 MW facility housing 120 MicroBT servers powered entirely by renewable energy, went live October 31, 2024, ahead of Finland's 2024 heating season; waste heat at 70°C feeds the district heating network serving a Finnish town of approximately 12,000 residents. In May 2025 the company announced a second facility, Project Aurora, developed with a Finnish district heating operator and local stakeholders; Aurora is also designed to participate in Finland's frequency-containment reserve programme.
In Germany, terahash's energy-integration work includes the Kläger Group's Hartha, Saxony site, where a 1.6 MWp ground-mounted PV array, 350 kWh industrial battery storage, and Bitcoin mining operate together to maximise self-consumption for Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG. Customer deployments include a Munich spice manufacturer (Gewürzfabrik) where excess solar generation powers mining hardware with heat recovery displacing fossil fuel inputs, and a car-wash facility in Münsingen integrating PV, water treatment, and mining.
On the education side, terahash runs on-site and digital workshops, 1-on-1 VIP advisory packages, and since March 2026 a Bitcoin Masterclass series offering professional continuing education in Bitcoin Finance and Bitcoin Energy. The company also produces terahash.talks, a podcast hosted by founder Kristian Kläger, and participated in the "Bitcoin im Bundestag" initiative, presenting the economic and environmental case for Bitcoin mining to German parliamentary stakeholders.
The advisory board includes Holger Wolff (CEO, MaibornWolff) and Christian (Co-Founder, Seedor), and the company maintains Switzerland representation through Andrea Zulauf. With Project Aurora operational and terahash.powersystems scaling its turnkey solar-plus-storage portfolio, terahash is working to replicate its heat-recovery mining model with additional European district heating operators.
