Business Description
White Rock Management, founded in 2016 by Ukrainian entrepreneur Serhiy Tron and headquartered at Dammstrasse 16, Zug, Switzerland, is a privately held bitcoin mining company operating leased data-center facilities in Sweden and the United States.
The company entered bitcoin mining in early 2021, signing its first Bitmain contract for 6,000 Antminer S19 units in March of that year. By year-end, White Rock had purchased more than 6,000 additional S19 miners and a further 3,000 S19 Pro units. Swedish operations launched in November 2021 under a hosting agreement with a local green data-center operator, running rigs on 100% hydroelectric generation in northern Sweden; the Swedish portfolio contributes 30 MW of the company's installed power base, drawing on river-based hydroelectric capacity in the region.
In June 2022, White Rock opened its first U.S. bitcoin mining site in Texas' Brazos Valley region, north of Houston, partnering with NGON, a green energy services and technology company, to capture by-product natural gas from active oil wells on-site. The Brazos Valley facility processes approximately 82,000 MCF of natural gas per installed megawatt, diverting gas that would otherwise be flared to grid. White Rock described the site as the first of multiple planned grid-independent Texas locations using stranded wellhead gas as fuel.
Across five leased data centers, combined maximum power capacity stands at 55 MW. Published figures show installed hashrate exceeding 562 PH/s; the company's full ASIC deployment target calls for a fleet of more than 16,000 Bitmain miners capable of producing 1,617 PH/s (approximately 1.6 EH/s). White Rock operates under a stated "Green BTC" policy, prioritizing renewable or stranded-energy sources at each site.
White Rock Management has also developed a two-phase media joint venture with Bitcoin Magazine. The initial partnership, announced November 2021, produced regional Bitcoin Magazine editions for Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and CIS countries. In February 2024, the collaboration extended to Switzerland, with a new Bitcoin Magazine office opened in Lugano producing digital and print Bitcoin coverage for the DACH region in German, French, and Italian. White Rock sponsored Bitmain's Dubai conference.
Founder Serhiy Tron has publicly outlined an expansion strategy targeting additional sites across the United States, broader North America, Europe, and Latin America, alongside stated interest in M&A opportunities within the bitcoin mining sector.
