Business Description

PowerPool.io is a multi-algorithm cryptocurrency mining pool incorporated as Powerpool Mining SL in Madrid, Spain, and founded in late 2022.

The pool operates across six algorithms: SHA-256 (Bitcoin), Scrypt (Litecoin and Dogecoin merge-mined), kHeavyHash (Kaspa), Eaglesong, Blake2S, and X11. Miners may receive payouts in Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, or USDC, with PowerPool absorbing all swap and transaction fees for cross-currency settlements. The pool charges a flat 1% fee with no withdrawal, inactivity, or conversion charges, and distributes earnings daily under a Pay Per Share (PPS) model.

As of mid-2025, PowerPool's dashboard reports 13,543 active miners, a Bitcoin SHA-256 pool hashrate of 905.6 PH/s, a Scrypt hashrate of 55.4 TH/s, and a Kaspa kHeavyHash hashrate of 4.1 PH/s, with infrastructure across redundant servers on six continents at 99.9% reported uptime. At the time of its January 2024 acquisition announcement, the pool operated approximately 7,400 connected miners at a SHA-256 hashrate of 174.2 PH/s and a Scrypt hashrate of 9.4 TH/s, reflecting an 18.3% compounded monthly growth rate since launch.

PowerPool's proprietary Power Bridge hardware functions as a local stratum server and Bitcoin node installed within a mining facility, reducing rejected shares by approximately 85% through on-site work processing rather than routing traffic to remote servers. Miners can also track rigs via iOS and Android mobile apps. As of early 2025, Power Bridge was in beta testing across six mining farms, with a public launch targeted for late Q1 2025.

In January 2024, Oslo-listed semiconductor and blockchain infrastructure company Lokotech Group AS (Euronext Growth Oslo: LOKO) announced a conditional acquisition of a 66.6% controlling stake in Powerpool Mining SL for approximately €1.5 million (roughly three times the company's December 2023 annualized EBIT of approximately €500,000). The final Sale-and-Purchase Agreement was executed May 28, 2024. At announcement, PowerPool reported annualized gross revenue of approximately €11 million. Founder Ruben Gómez Morales assumed the CEO role of the combined entity.

In May 2025, PowerPool integrated USDC stablecoin payouts via Circle, with the pool joining the Circle Alliance Directory. The feature lets miners receive up to 100% of earnings as USDC regardless of which algorithm they mine, with no conversion fees, making PowerPool the first multi-algorithm pool to offer USDC settlement across all six supported protocols.

SHA-256 pool hashrate expanded from 174.2 PH/s at the January 2024 Lokotech acquisition to 905.6 PH/s by mid-2025, an approximately fivefold increase, with active miner count rising from approximately 7,400 to 13,543 over the same period. PowerPool continues to add algorithm and payout-currency integrations under Lokotech's blockchain infrastructure platform.
