Business Description
Bitcoin Magazine, launched in May 2012 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, is the oldest continuously published outlet devoted exclusively to Bitcoin news, analysis, and industry coverage. It operates today as a subsidiary of BTC Inc. under the publicly traded Nakamoto Inc. (NASDAQ: NAKA).
Co-founders Mihai Alisie and Vitalik Buterin (Buterin later co-created Ethereum) published the first issue in May 2012 and produced 22 print issues in partnership with Coin Publishing LLC in Orlando, Florida. BTC Media, co-founded by David Bailey, acquired Bitcoin Magazine in January 2015 and eventually folded it into BTC Inc., headquartered in Nashville. Bailey served as CEO until November 2025, when BTC Inc. appointed Brandon Green as Chief Executive Officer. Green had been on staff since 2017, previously serving as Managing Director, Chief of Staff, and Head of Events. Bailey transitioned to Chairman of BTC Inc. and simultaneously serves as CEO of the publicly listed parent, Nakamoto Inc. (NASDAQ: NAKA).
The editorial operation covers Bitcoin market structure, regulatory developments, mining, and technology through daily digital content, long-form features, and video. Bitcoin Magazine Pro, an analytics tier developed in partnership with Look Into Bitcoin (whose founder Philip Swift became Managing Director in July 2024), offers on-chain data and charting tools alongside a monthly digest called The Bitcoin Report; the platform reported 1,633,378 active users in 2025. Bitcoin Magazine Books publishes print, digital, and audio titles by Bitcoin authors. In April 2026, the company announced BM TV, a daily live broadcast network set to debut from Nashville in Summer 2026.
The Bitcoin Conference series, produced annually by BTC Inc. since 2019, is a primary revenue driver. Bitcoin 2022 at the Miami Beach Convention Center drew approximately 30,000 attendees. Bitcoin 2024 at Nashville's Music City Center (July 25, 27, 2024) attracted an estimated 35,000 attendees across 444 speakers, including Donald Trump, Michael Saylor, and Cathie Wood, and generated more than 1.4 million livestream views. The series expanded internationally with Bitcoin Asia 2024 in Hong Kong, which drew approximately 5,500 attendees. For the nine-month period ending in 2025, BTC Inc. reported estimated revenue of $61.9 million and EBITDA of $23 million, representing approximately 140% year-over-year revenue growth.
Additional milestones include White House press credential approval for Bitcoin Magazine journalists and co-production of the Crypto Ball during the January 2025 U.S. presidential inauguration week. Bitcoin 2027 is confirmed for July 15, 17 in Nashville, the conference's return to the city after Bitcoin 2026 was held at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
