Business Description
Engineered Fluids, Inc., founded in 2017 and headquartered in Saint Petersburg, Florida, develops, manufactures, and sells application-specific single-phase dielectric coolants and liquid immersion cooling systems for cryptocurrency miners, data centers, electric vehicles, and electric aircraft batteries.
Engineered Fluids' product portfolio centers on four branded fluid lines. BitCool® BC-888 is formulated exclusively for ASIC-based cryptocurrency miners; the fluid delivers 1,600 times the heat density of air, enabling operators to eliminate fans, air-handling units, and A/C equipment while supporting overclocking. ElectroCool® (EC-100 and EC-110) targets GPUs, FPGAs, and server-class hardware. AmpCool® is designed for electric-vehicle and aviation battery thermal management. VoltCool® (VC-110 and VC-140) addresses transformer dielectric cooling applications. All core fluids carry NSF food-grade certification, are 98% biodegradable, non-halogenated, and non-flammable.
For hardware deployment, Engineered Fluids manufactures SLICTanks. The Generation 5 design reached market after more than three years of development and $500,000 in computational fluid-dynamics analysis to optimize internal flow patterns and heat-transfer performance. Engineered Fluids also engineers and builds fully outfitted 20-foot and 40-foot ISO-container systems for data center, battery, and crypto-mining applications, with heat rejection options spanning dry coolers, adiabatic coolers, freshwater, saltwater, and geologic cooling across onshore and offshore deployments.
Services cover the full deployment lifecycle: hydraulic engineering and pump sizing, 3D system modeling, operations and maintenance documentation, on-site troubleshooting, and installation supervision. A dielectric coolant recycling program provides a low- or no-cost fluid return pathway. Engineered Fluids has supported mining operations spanning from six-device hobbyist setups to sites running thousands of ASICs.
Beyond bitcoin mining, Engineered Fluids serves defense, marine, ROV, undersea pressure-compensation, electric motor and drivetrain, laser, and LED markets, where high-density semiconductors exceed the thermal capacity of air cooling. Engineered Fluids offers custom fluid formulations for specialized use cases outside its standard product catalog.
Chief Scientist and co-founder Dr. David Sundin, Ph.D., developed the first purpose-engineered dielectric coolants roughly 30 years ago and previously served as President of Dielectric Systems, Inc. from 1992 to 2018. Engineered Fluids' management team carries a stated combined 60 years of experience in technology development and more than 30 years in industrial functional fluids.
In May 2025, Engineered Fluids entered a three-party collaboration with Iceotope and Juniper Networks aimed at AI and high-performance-computing data center infrastructure. The collaboration pairs Engineered Fluids' dielectric fluids with Iceotope's chassis-level immersion hardware and Juniper's AI-native networking stack. The following month, Engineered Fluids announced a partnership with Dovetail Electric Aviation to integrate AmpCool® into Dovetail's DovePack™ modular battery pack for retrofitting Cessna Caravan and DHC Twin Otter aircraft; battery testing is underway in Spain and Australia.
