Business Description
JASMINER, the hardware brand of SUNLUNE LTD (a fabless IC design company incorporated in Singapore and registered in the Cayman Islands), manufactures Ethash-algorithm ASIC miners targeting the Ethereum Classic (ETC) network, with offices in Beijing's Haidian District and subsidiary operations in the United States.
SUNLUNE's technical differentiation centers on a near-memory computing architecture using wafer-to-wafer 3D hybrid bonding to integrate logic and memory at the die level, a design approach TechInsights covered in analysis of the X4 generation. All current JASMINER hardware targets EtHash and EtcHash algorithms, primarily Ethereum Classic and Zilliqa.
JASMINER's hardware portfolio spans three generations. The X4 series, the founding line, shipped in multiple form factors: the X4-Brick (65 MH/s, 30 W, $2,099 at launch), the X4-C 1U rack unit (450 MH/s, 240 W), and the full-tower X4 server (2.5 GH/s, 1,200 W). The second-generation X16 series completed a first-attempt tape-out in 2023, rated at approximately 10 times the computing power of the X4 generation, and entered mass production across four variants: the X16-Q (1,950 MH/s, 620 W, 0.32 J/MH), the X16-QE (1,650, 1,750 MH/s, 550 W, 0.31 J/MH), the X16-Q Pro (2,050 MH/s, 550 W, 40 dB noise floor), and the rack-mount X16-P server (5,800 MH/s, 1,900 W, 0.32 J/MH). In April 2024 SUNLUNE launched the third-generation X44 series, the X44-Q Quiet Model and X44-P Power Model, both rated at 0.1 J/MH. The X44-P delivers 23.4 GH/s at 2,550 W.
In September 2022 SUNLUNE closed a Series A financing round described in press coverage as "tens of millions" of US dollars, led exclusively by Intel Capital. Intel Capital's Managing Director Wang Tianlin stated that Intel would collaborate with SUNLUNE on chip design, wafer manufacturing, and cryptocurrency algorithm development. SUNLUNE founder and CEO Dr. Wang Fuquan stated proceeds would fund chip R&D, global headcount growth (including hiring in China and internationally), and international business expansion.
SUNLUNE exhibited at CES 2024 in Las Vegas (January 9, 12), disclosing planned collaboration with Intel and TSMC across chip design and wafer fabrication. JASMINER debuted at Mining Disrupt 2023 and returned to Mining Disrupt 2024 in Miami (June 24, 26); SUNLUNE also displayed X16 series hardware at the inaugural Proof-of-Work Summit in Prague (September 25, 27, 2023), where it announced a strategic partnership with ETC Network Info, an ETC Cooperative-affiliated ecosystem project. SUNLUNE has stated it holds proprietary chip technology for both EtcHash and SHA-256 algorithms, and if that technology reaches commercial deployment, it would extend JASMINER's hardware line into the Bitcoin mining market.
