Business Description
RK Mission Critical (RKMC), established in 2015 as a manufacturing subsidiary of Denver-based RK Industries, engineers, manufactures, and delivers modular data centers, power modules, and secure containerized facilities from dual production campuses in Denver and Aurora, Colorado.
RKMC's product portfolio spans modular data centers, E-houses, electrical skids, power modules, interior and exterior conveyance systems, high-density computing environments, and Containerized Secure Units (CSUs). The company consolidates mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering and fabrication under a single roof, running factory assembly in parallel with on-site civil work to reduce skilled-labor peaks and compress deployment timelines.
The flagship product line is THE DISRUPTOR™ 2000, a 2-megawatt containerized unit and the first in the industry to receive UL 508 certification, also compliant with NEC 2017. Each unit houses 560 miners at 3,400 watts per plug, integrating a 3,000-amp switchboard, fourteen 400-amp custom power distribution panels, and 24 filtered intake air hoods. RKMC subsequently developed the DISRUPTOR™ 2000 Texas Edition, hardened for West Texas conditions with solar-reflective exterior paint, higher-capacity air intake, and 100%-rated electronic trip switchboard breakers sized for full miner load in high-ambient heat. In May 2023, Rebel Mining Company contracted 38 Texas Edition containers (76 megawatts of capacity) for immediate delivery.
In 2022, RKMC partnered with SCATE Ventures to co-develop THE DISRUPTOR™ IC 2000, identified as the nation's first modular and scalable immersion cooling container, incorporating SCATE's patent-pending Hashbox™ per-miner enclosure and enabling overclock rates of 25%, 55%. The company also manufactures CSUs to ICD 705 SCIF standards, assembled in access-restricted production environments and certified to UL, NEC, and OSHA requirements for defense and federal intelligence deployments.
RKMC operates from a 280,000-square-foot Denver campus and a 142,000-square-foot Aurora facility opened in 2022. Both campuses fall under RK Industries, a second-generation, family-owned Colorado enterprise tracing its origins to a Nebraska mechanical business founded in 1963 and incorporated in Colorado in 1985, with approximately 2,000 employees and locations spanning Denver, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne, and Dallas. President and General Manager Adam Michel, a Vanderbilt University engineering graduate and former EVAPCO CFO with seven years of China-based operations leadership, leads strategy alongside VP of Manufacturing Scott Mitchell, a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. In September 2025, RK Industries announced an Aurora headquarters expansion: the largest single Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit approval by Colorado's Economic Development Commission that year, projecting 1,786 new jobs over eight years.
